As astronomers, our work is inseparable from the natural environment. Protecting the night sky, preserving natural ecosystems, and operating responsibly within our planet’s limits are core principles of everything we do.

Dark Sky Protection & Environmental Awareness

We actively promote the protection of the night sky through:

• Minimizing artificial light during all activities

• Using low-impact lighting (including red light systems)

• Educating participants about light pollution and its effects

Our experiences are designed not only to observe the sky, but to foster a deeper understanding of humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

Off-Grid & Resource-Conscious Operations

Our main venue, Finca Astronómica, operates fully off-grid:

• Powered by solar energy systems with battery storage

• Energy usage is carefully managed and limited to essential needs

• All appliances are selected for high energy efficiency standards

Energy is limited by design. This is not a limitation — it is a control mechanism that keeps our operations within sustainable boundaries.

Our infrastructure is designed and maintained with the support of a qualified specialist in:

• Electrical installations

• Solar photovoltaic systems

This ensures both safety and long-term sustainability of operations.

Water Management

​

Water is sourced from official and regulated providers, and its use is strictly controlled.

We implement:

• Conscious consumption practices

• Water recycling systems where possible

• Ecological sanitation systems designed to minimize environmental impact

Waste Reduction & Circular Practices

​

We follow a strict waste management approach:

• Waste is segregated and responsibly disposed of

• Materials are recycled through appropriate channels, including scrapyard processing where applicable

• Food waste is minimized and, where suitable, reused responsibly

Food leftovers are handled in accordance with animal welfare standards, under the supervision of a qualified specialist in veterinary dietetics and nutrition.

• All information, confirmations, and materials are provided online
