A Place to Experience the Sky

Finca Astronómica is more than a location — it is the foundation of everything we do.

Away from city lights, it offers the conditions needed to observe the universe clearly, while also providing a relaxed and accessible setting for visitors of all backgrounds. Here, astronomy becomes a shared experience: people gather, observe, ask questions, and reconnect with the sky in a direct and tangible way.

Astronomy Without Borders

A central part of our work is ensuring that astronomy is accessible to everyone.

Through our Astronomy Without Borders initiatives, we develop programs adapted for:

• seniors

• people with visual, mobility, or cognitive disabilities

• communities with limited access to science education

These programs include both daytime solar observations and night-sky experiences, adapted to different needs and environments.

We believe that access to the night sky should not be limited — and that astronomy can be a powerful tool for inclusion, curiosity, and shared experience.

Our Story

Astronomy Tours was founded by Aleksandra and Charles, whose journey into astronomy began in childhood and evolved into a lifelong pursuit of bringing the universe closer to people.

Before establishing Astronomy Tours in Spain, they developed and operated award-winning astronomy experiences in the Canary Islands, including Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Their stargazing programs gained international recognition, receiving distinctions such as World Tour Operator of the Year (2016 & 2017) by Luxury Travel Guide.

Alongside their commercial work, they founded the Astronomy and Science Centre Foundation, which grew into a consortium collaborating with universities, municipalities, and tourism organisations. The long-term vision has always been clear:

to create a fully accessible public observatory and make real astronomy available to everyone.

After years of observing and evaluating locations, they chose to leave the Canary Islands and focus on Cartagena and the Murcia region, recognising its potential for establishing a permanent astronomy base beyond purely tourism-driven environments.

The expansion faced challenges during the pandemic, delaying several planned projects. In response, they took a direct and independent approach — and in 2021 began building Finca Astronómica using their own resources.

Finca Astronómica was developed as a sustainable, off-grid astronomy space, combining the natural landscape of Campo de Cartagena with a dedicated environment for observation, education, and public engagement.

In 2025, the project evolved into a cooperative structure, continuing its development under the Astronomy Tours brand while expanding into education, training, and youth outreach. One of the most important initiatives is the development of new generations of astronomers, initiated by their young son Maxymilian.

Today, Astronomy Tours brings together experience, education, and long-term vision — creating not only astronomy activities, but a foundation for future public access to the universe.
